Started with one
perfect cup.
In 2014, two friends came back from a backpacking trip through Ethiopia with 12 kilos of coffee they'd bought directly from a family farm in Yirgacheffe. They roasted it in a repurposed popcorn machine on the back porch of a Hyde Park rental.
People started knocking on the door. Within a year, Grounds Coffee Co. had a market stall, a roaster, and a waiting list for bags.
"We don't sell coffee. We share an experience that started in someone's field, traveled thousands of miles, and ended in your cup."
Today we source from 14 farms across Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, and Indonesia — visiting each one at least once a year. Every relationship is direct. Every bag is traceable.
